I like my first attempt at making a horror movie poster. However, I do believe I it can be improved a lot. I tried to follow the layout of the horror movie Dead Silence from 2007. I think it is a good attempt but I feel like I could have followed more codes and conventions from this decade. The background needs to be dark instead of white as it doesn't really make the poster have an ominous tone to it. I think i would need to do more with the text to improve the poster and I need to add a credit block to it.
A well-conceived poster. As a poster fitting the typical codes and conventions of a more contemporary poster it reminds me of the new IT film perhaps in ist simplicity, it also harks back to other genres such as terminator in its very machine like treatment. this works well . I’m sure these are intertextual references which influenced the way in which it developed, I know from the lessons that you struggled with Photoshop as this was new to you, the final outcomes is accomplished- we are however, left to surmise about all this as your analysis of the poster is not posted, we do not get the insight we might have if the 'How I made it post was also present.
