autobiography advertisement campaign is one of the best examples of a
globalised cross media project. An example is Jay-Z’s involvement with Bing as
it allowed him to spread his fame and get more people aware of who he is and
what he does. He done this through the use of a game to advertise his book this
got an audience of gamers interested so they found out more about the
autobiography and who Jay-Z is. This caused Jay-Z to get a big income of money
and Bing to top 10 most searched for 18 weeks. Bing also had an increase of
11.7% in users using their web. He also spread the awareness of the
autobiography by using forms of alternative media such as newspapers and social
networks as they would get a lot of people interested in what was going on so
they would followed the crowd, as we are the global age it was easy for him to
do this as well as producing billboards and maps. The target audience for these
advertisements were mainly for the younger generation but also targeted those
who aren’t very familiar with Jay-Z. The collaboration between Bing and Jay-Z
was very influential as every form of advertisement caught the eyes of the
general public and the target audience. This gave a great increase in the
popularity in Bing and gave a huge increase in the money that Jay-Z would be
earning.
you have covered the main thrust of the campaign - some visuals showing some of the unusual placements of the pages would have been good, a little more about the impact on Bing as well a Jay Z was needed.
